Where Is the Love?

          In my quiet moments of reflection, a troubling realization has taken hold of my heart: we aren’t as kind and loving to each other as we used to be. The warmth that once defined Christian love seems to be fading, and I can’t help but notice how we’ve started to take our faith for granted. Many of us act as though Christianity is a personal possession, something exclusive, as if only we and our families are striving to see God’s face. In doing so, we’ve neglected the very essence of what it means to follow Christ. We’ve become so inward-looking, so concerned with our own needs, that we forget about those who are silently suffering. We pray for our families, our close friends, but what about the stranger who is battling depression? What about the person who is crying out for help, yet finds no one to turn to?
